About Us Jim and Marla Sanders opened Blanco Valley Farms in February 1994 with their very first show being the Gruene Market Days. Their line of Chili Mix, Salsa Mix, & Dip Mixes have remained the same for the past 16 years with no salt, no msg, nor any kind of artificial preservatives. Later canned sauces were added to their list of products and our most popular jarred item, Candied Jalapenos, was introduced in 2004. Most recently they introduced an Old Fashioned Texas Pecan Pie in a jar . . . One of our most popular products, the chili mix, was generated after many years of trying to imitate Jim’s Mother's chili. One day Jim remembered her buying dried New Mexico Chiles at the meat market in the '40s, so that recollection and it's addition to their recipe finished it perfectly with a slightly different taste than most Texas chili mixes. Our products are sold in some small stores and gift shops including Fourth Street Meat Market and McCall Creek Farms in Blanco, Whittington's Jerky in Johnson City, Main Street BBQ in Dripping Springs, Winery on the Gruene in Gruene, Old Mill Store in Wimberley, Robertson's Hams in Salado, Big Daddy's in Marble Falls, and The Strawberry Patch in Salado. Jim and Marla also sell at Wimberley Market (First Saturdays) and Gruene Market Days (3rd weekends) every month they are open, plus Christmas at Old Fort Concho in San Angelo (1st w/e in Dec.). Other family members or associates sell at Barton Creek Mkt., Sunset Valley Farmers Mkt., and Cedar Park Farmer's Mkt in Austin most Saturdays . . . .
